Ghana Learning Project
The primary aim of Ghana Learning Project is to help provide and
implement learning materials to schools in Ghana based on their
educational needs.

Through our experiences of voluntary teaching in Ghana, we have
noticed a particular lack of the reading materials available to pupils
throughout the country.

In addition, it is evident that we all own plenty of books in the UK
that are going to waste, with many libraries, schools and individuals
in possession of books that are no longer being used.

We are therefore looking to match these resources with the great
need that exists in Ghana, by collecting and transporting books that
will be beneficial to the pupils.

We are working with schools in Ghana for whom addressing the lack
of books is a priority, and having developed strong working relations
we are confident about helping to meet their particular needs.

In April 2009 our collection of almost 6,000 books left the UK by
ship to Ghana, and our team of volunteers will travel out to West
Africa in July to distribute them amongst the schools that we are
supporting.
